Problem to solve

It is proposed a solution to the lack of continuous monitoring of the integrity and conservation status of infrastructures and buildings, which makes possible the occurrence of disasters both as a result of extreme natural events and intensive use.

Description

• Custom fiber optic strain gauge sensor chains: based on a design developed at ENEA during previous development for demonstration applications and prototype implementations, they have many advantages over existing commercial products; The project aims at optimising the product with reference to the needs of industrialising production and fully satisfying market demands. • Multifunctional data logger: a highly specialized data acquisition and processing system for the reference application; it is developed during the project as an evolution of a system (G801) that the industrial partner produces for traditional technology, with G802 trade name forecast; integrates sensor management capabilities based on traditional (electrical) and fiber optic technology.
