The geopolitical scenarios and events of recent years have led to an incrising development of procedures and technologies for security and rescue in case of CBRNe events. The proposed platform is based on the acquisition of images, both in the visible spectrum domain or in the infrared or ultraviolet ones, which are processed in real time by artificial intelligence algorithms, to support first responders during rescue operations in the field and to analyse the data acquired at a later stage.

Problem to solve

The proposed technology aims to solve several problems by improving the devices or techniques used today in the proposed fields (CBRNe, Forensics and Cultural Heritage), achieving results that are difficult to achieve with traditional techniques.

Description

The proposed platform is based on the acquisition of images, both in the visible spectrum domain or in the infrared and ultraviolet ones, which are processed in real time by artificial intelligence algorithms to support first responders during rescue operations in the field and to analyse the data acquired at a later stage. In addition, the use of different artificial intelligence models, which are also able to cooperate each other, the user interface has been developed as a web application, so that it can be used on both workstation and mobile devices. This platform has to be considered an expert system to support the decisions which has to be taken by the various operators during operations in case of CBRN events or monitoring of critical infrastructures. If properly trained, the system is also capable of establishing the roles of the different actors in the field and to propose solutions to operate as quickly as possible in situations involving injured people or imminent dangers.
