Problem to solve
The reactors can be used to support universities and research institutions, but also industries.
Description
The TRIGA RC1 reactor is a thermal reactor capable of providing high-intensity neutron and gamma fluxes with a variable spectrum from thermal to fast. The second reactor available to ENEA is the RSV TAPIRO, a source of fast neutrons. A facility with unique characteristics for neutron flux spectrum and intensity.
Innovative aspects and advantages
- neutron flux intensities
- neutron spectra
- numer and types of irradiation facilities
Admissible applications
- Radiation Damage with neutrons and gamma
- Target activation for feasibility studies on new theragnostic radionuclide
- research project to support new generation nucelar reactors
