Problem to solve
Characterization of innovative materials and coatings for their use in lead alloys for Fusion and IV Generation Fission Reactors
Description
The characterization of materials in lead and its alloy is an advanced research activity that currently lacks a supporting regulatory framework. Therefore, the service aims to provide guidelines for corrosion and mechanical testing. These guidelines are subsequently implemented in the execution of experimental characterization tests.
Innovative aspects and advantages
- Expertise in the design of experimental facilities for material characterization tests
- Extensive experience in studying material characterization phenomena
Admissible applications
- Chemical analysis of solid and liquid materials
- Crystallographic analysis of coatings and solid materials, and metallographic characterization of metals and alloys
- Deposition of functional protective coatings
- Static corrosion testing of materials in liquid lead and its alloys
- Topographical and morphological investigations of materials and surfaces
